Who She Is
Laetitia Mernsuh (Mrs. Mernsuh Laetitia Epse Bomba / Mme Bomba Laetitia) is the founder, president, and chairperson of the EmpowerHer Tech Foundation. She is a Cameroon-based leader focused on gender diversity, women’s empowerment in technology, cybersecurity, and digital transformation. And also the Co-founder of GreenSprings Digital Institute.

Academic and Professional Background
She holds a background in Economics and Management and has co-authored work on public finance. In 2023 she contributed to the paper/book Enchanting Budgetary Allocation (full title: Enhancing Budgetary Allocation and Monitoring in African Countries: A Path to Sustainable Development) with Mokube Mathias Itoe and Linus Enobi Akepe, available on SSRN. The work examines challenges in budget allocation, monitoring, transparency, and sustainable development across African countries.

Founding Vision and Motivation
Drawing on her economics and management training and her observation of gender disparities in technology, she established the EmpowerHer Tech Foundation to create a supportive ecosystem for women and girls in tech and related fields. The organization works to close gaps through education, mentorship, skills training, and advocacy.

EmpowerHer Tech Foundation
The foundation is a Cameroon-based development and technology NGO (also listed as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit registered in the United States). It is headquartered in Yaoundé (Nouvelle Route, Bastos) and operates across five regions: North West, South West, Littoral, East, and Centre. It was founded around 2023 and focuses on women, girls, children, youth, parents, schools, and communities.

Key Programs and Impact

  • Coding for Kids: Hands-on coding, robotics, and digital literacy for children (ages roughly 5–20); 500+ children reached.
  • Cybersecurity and online safety: Training for women (including 44 women trained in cybersecurity and parental control in partnership with MINFI / Ministry of Finance) plus career guidance.
  • Girls in Tech / EmpowerHer 100 Scholarship: Tuition support, announced in partnership with GreenSprings Digital University, prioritizing girls from crisis-affected regions (North West, South West, Extreme North).
  • Youth in Agriculture: Digital and sustainable farming skills training (target of 10,000 youth).
  • Parental controls, child online protection, and community digital inclusion initiatives.

Advocacy and Leadership Style
She engages policymakers, industry leaders, and educational institutions to promote gender diversity and inclusion in technology. She emphasizes continuous learning, networking, education, empowerment, and mentorship as drivers of change. She is positioned as a role model for aspiring women across Africa, with a focus on turning personal and structural challenges into opportunities.
