Diploma / Advanced Certificate in Oil & Gas Refinery Operations and Maintenance
Year one covers safety, industrial chemistry, P&ID interpretation, then the mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and utility systems of a refinery. Year two is the refinery itself: crude processing, then 250 hours on the process units — distillation, FCC, hydrocracking, reforming, alkylation, coking, sulfur recovery — followed by troubleshooting, reliability engineering, advanced automation (DCS, PLC, SCADA), refinery economics and supervisory skills. Seven workshops run throughout, including Aspen/HYSYS simulator training and DCS operator training. The internship rotates through every refinery department.
