Builds from engineering fundamentals into corrosion science, then into prevention and asset integrity. Students study the forms of corrosion and the metallurgy behind them, then move to protective coatings, cathodic protection, inhibitors, NDT and monitoring, finishing with pipeline and refinery corrosion, failure analysis and digital tools — smart sensors, remote monitoring, digital twins and AI applications. Two industrial attachments and a capstone project on a real industry problem. Needs a corrosion lab, NDT lab, coating lab, CP lab and metallurgy lab.
